CELP Truck Driver

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION’S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Operate an over-the-road semi-tractor, pulling double trailers to deliver coal from the Rosebud Mine to a local power plant over public highways.  Interact with customer representatives in a professional manner. Operate manual tarp closures for each load.  Perform pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections.  Work schedule requires weekend work.  Assignments may also include completing physical labor tasks throughout the mining operation.  Work is performed in varying extremes with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and adverse weather.  Employee must comply with all Company, State and Federal rules and regulations.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License Type 2, Class A, with double or triple trailer endorsement.  Must possess and maintain current DOT physical.  Minimum of 2 years over-the-road truck driving experience.  Demonstrated ability to drive a semi- tractor pulling double trailers. Proof of longer combination vehicle driver-training certification preferred.  Physical skill and ability to complete moderate laboring of repetitive or sustained physical effort, continual walking or standing on uneven terrain, climbing of vertical ladders, lifting and carrying of materials up to 50 lbs.  Must be able to communicate effectively and to interact with our customers and mine personnel to ensure teamwork and safe, efficient operations.  Pre-employment physicals/drug screenings, personal & criminal backgrounds checks will be conducted on all candidates receiving conditional offers.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

The wage and benefits for this position will be as established by the Mining Agreement between Westmoreland Rosebud Mining LLC and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No.  400 AFL-CIO.
