In the Mine Maintenance Engineer role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise for daily mobile maintenance support and continuous improvement initiatives. THE ROLE:

In this role, you will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and the Coal Plant through:

  • Research and recommendation of improvements for the efficient and effective use of physical assets.
  • Lead root cause failure process for mobile mining equipment.
  • Utilization of technology and lead technology projects within the Maintenance department.
  • Measure, audit and report maintenance availability, delays, and improvements.
  • Work with the Maintenance Planning Team to optimize savings for the Coal Valley mine site.
  • Conduct engineering and/or effectiveness studies required to support ongoing site improvement efforts.
  • Track, Trend and report on PM compliance and effectiveness.
  • Lead and implement special projects as required

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements:

  • An Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Will also consider Civil,  Process, or Mining
  • Registration with APEGA, or eligibility to register within the province of Alberta
  • Understanding that safety is a priority above everything else

Preference for:

  • Mobile mining equipment experience in a maintenance shop environment
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, scheduling software, computerized maintenance management system experience.
  • Determination, a self-starter and strong technical and problem-solving capability.
  • The ability to collaborate with other teams and departments to achieve the best results and deliver the most value.
  • Continually seeking greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace to understand not just what you do but why you do it.
