Summary Description:
Responsible for organizing a shift work unit involved with mechanical and / or electrical maintenance and repair of equipment. To supervise routine and emergency repair and maintenance and servicing of mechanical components on mobile mining equipment. Supervise, coordinate and monitor all activities of the maintenance area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate and monitor routine maintenance mobile mining equipment
- Coordinate activities for the welding crews, mobile crane operators and rigging crews; provide training as needed
- Coordinate the availability of parts for maintenance projects
- Identify and balance resource demands on workgroup; approve time cards
- Communicate performance expectations to crew members and address any performance issues that can be improved.
- Ensure employees are in compliance with all company policies/procedures and safety regulations.
- Safety: Conduct weekly tool box meetings; Perform shop inspections at the beginning of each shift
- Organize work assignments with on-shift supervisors
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or five years’ experience in mining / related industry
- Heavy equipment maintenance training and experience with mining experience preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and manufacturing systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess appropriate State licenses / certificates applicable to the role
