Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory and shipping logistics for the activated carbon and char plant.
  • Manage all aspects of the domestic coal sales business, from initial customer contact through billing.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly production and shipping reports.
  • Monitor product inventory levels and advise supervisors of product changes required for inventory management.
  • Calculate and distribute weekly forecast updates for production and sales.
  • Coordinate with customers and shipping partners to ensure timely delivery of shipments.
  • Coordinate with customs broker for clearance of cross border shipments.
  • Coordinate shipping of product samples to external labs.
  • Coordinate and monitor shipments with CP Rail.
  • Create Carload Shipping Instructions for all cars being shipped with CPR.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the coal/mining, electrical utility, coal/mining transportation or related industry with some commercial experience is desired.
  • Sales and marketing, contract negotiations, procurement, trading, or railroad experience.
  • A technical understanding of coal/mining types and specifications.
  • Computer and analytical skills are necessary. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Typical Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.  Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
