Job Description

Position Summary

HR Manager II is responsible for one or more functions and serves as a strategic partner to senior management. Ability to lead initiatives and strategies to support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.

 

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position may have supervisory responsibilities over other employees. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess processes and procedures performed at corporate and mine locations, and develops a plan to streamline HR functions across the company. 
  • Acts to support the human factor in the company by developing and executing strategies with Partners in Organizational Development (performance evaluation, training and development) and Talent Acquisition (Staffing). 
  • Researches, analyzes data and prepares quarterly reports on HR trends, new HR project suggestions and current program goals and progress. 
  • Assist Team (Total Rewards, Talent & OD) with creating the HR strategic planning framework and ensure the project team completes all required tasks. 
  • Employee Relations:
    • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
    • Onboarding, offboarding and disciplinary action.
  • Assist Team (Total Rewards, Talent, HR & OD) with developing strategic direction and leadership on the development of HR policies, projects and initiatives across the company.
  • Experience and knowledge with compensation, benefits, retirement, training and recruitment.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Provides oversight of contracts and contracted services required for the development and implementation of projects and initiatives. 
  • Evaluates the results of HR projects, compliance and initiatives to ensure expectations are met and determines next steps for improvement and sustainability. 
  • Perform related work as required.

Job Requirements

Typical Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel. 

Typical Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience in HR, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisitions and Organizational Development.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. 

Licenses, Registration, and Certifications

  • HR Certification preferred.
