Job Description

Position Summary

This position will support business functions in the accounting department.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts quantitative analyses of information affecting budgets, expenses, and other financial projects. 
  • Collects financial information for assigned accounts, products or product lines, or business units to track the organization’s progress against its financial goals.
  • Assist with gross revenue, trade spend, and cost of goods sold that allows for thorough analysis and identification of opportunities for improvement.. 
  • Ability to prepare executive level presentations and summaries of forecasting and planning information.
  • Analyzes cash flow, expenditures, revenue, depreciation, and investments to make recommendations for action and/or modifications regarding financial procedures, plans, and controls.

Job Requirements

Typical Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel.

Typical Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

 

Education and Experience

  • Applicants must have a two-year degree, preferably in accounting or a business related field and 3+ years related work experience. 
  • Thorough knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, and principles of accounting, financial analysis, GAAP and business operations is necessary. 
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, Excel and Access (spreadsheets & databases)
  • Must possess strong analytical skills.
